Pocket-Sized Chinese Menu to Make and Carry!

Ordering Chinese food in China can be extremely difficult for most people coming to live or travel in China. Whether you are an English teacher living and teaching in China, or you are planning a holiday to China, the chances are that at some point you are going to be very stuck on how to order food.
The problem is that most small to medium-sized restaurants in China (that's about 98% of all restaurants in China) will have no pictures to point at on their menu and no English to read from. Additionally, the waitresses in small Chinese restaurants will not be able to understand any English at all. This makes ordering food in a Chinese restaurant in China very tricky if you don't speak or read Chinese well.

Free Printable Chinese Menu (Pocket Sized)

One of the biggest problems both new (and old) teachers have when they come to China is ordering Chinese food. Scroll to the bottom to download our free folding pocket menu.

In fast food restaurants in China, such as McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, etc, there will be staff who can speak basic English and menus with pictures to point at. Ordering fast food in China is easy.

Where is gets more difficult is when you want to order authentic Chinese food in small to medium sized restaurants where the staff are likely to speak no English whatsoever. In many of the very common small restaurants, the menu is on one A4 sized laminated menu where the dishes are listed along with prices. There are usually no pictures at all, and with no pictures to point at, and no ability to understand what dishes are sold, and no way to say what you want in Chinese...well, you can see the problem. Having all the other diners staring at you while this all goes on never helps either. What you need is a little printable Chinese menu!
