The City

Qinhuangdao is a beautiful city about 300km east of Beijing, on the coastline of the Bohai Sea. By Chinese standards, it's a relatively small city, with around 3 million people, so it doesn't have the often annoying crowds of the bigger cities.

What's really great though, is the beaches. Being a coastal city, the city runs along the coastline for some way, and the beaches are sandy and good quality by Chinese standards.

It is the home to the very end of the eastern part of the great wall of China, so you can say that you've been to the end of the Great Wall!

It is a city with a long history, too - in 215 BC, the legendary emperor Qin Shi Huang inspected the settlement here and gave it it's name - Qinhuangdao.
In and around the city there are many things to do, from laser tag to climbing the Great Wall, to relaxing at a coffee shop to mountain climbing.

The Job

The school is probably the most modern and well-equipped school in the city. There is a small computer suite for the students to use, a computer in every classroom and a multimedia performance room. As part of a major brand, you can expect support and guidance every step of the way, both in and out of the classroom.

There is a great atmosphere amongst the staff in the school, both Western and Chinese, and friends are made that you can keep for life!

You'll be teaching a wide variety of students, from 3 years old to adult, and at all different levels.

There are set curriculum to follow, and many resources to help you. There is a comprehensive In-service training program that includes regular observations, workshops and one-on-one coaching. An on-site team of DOS, senior teacher and more experienced teachers are available for pedagogical and personal support.

The Salary Package

• Salary from 6,500 - 8,500 RMB per month based on experience
