Job description:

The Director of Studies position is the backbone and driving force behind any language school. A Director of Studies needs to be dedicated to the development of teachers and the the academic quality of the team. Quite simply, a students' learning experience with any teacher will be improved and enhanced with the support and guidance of a good DOS.

We are looking for a new Director of Studies for one of our longest serving clients in Chengdu and Wuhan. The qualities we are looking for are as follows:

• A proven track record of at least two years in quality ESL teaching and an excellent knowledge of current ESL methodologies
• Leadership qualities to guide and support teachers, both new and experienced, to reach new heights in their teaching ability
• Experience in writing and delivering training workshops for staff
• A willingness to work together with Chinese management and to implement new ideas and educational policies
• A good listener for teachers who may be experiencing difficulties on the job
• Managing resources and making schedules
• Observing teacher classes and giving honest, relevant feedback
• Overseeing and ensuring the quality of academic programs
• Team building and problem solving skills

Qualifications required:

Native English speakers only.

BA degree + a teaching certificate (online certificates will not be considered) + a minimum two years of ESL experience.
